#3  The county sheriff refuses to bear the costs associated with detention of illegals when they have declining tax revenues & can't support very real needs of the local taxpayers.

Poor states and poor counties, this is very much the case. They also face population ceilings dictated by federal judges in many cases. So, who do you incarcerate and who do you not? The feds create the problem by not securing the border and then expect the states and locals to pick up the tab of the consequences.

#2  Sanctuary policies are abhorred by the people in a Catch 22. The county sheriff refuses to bear the costs associated with detention of illegals when they have declining tax revenues & can't support very real needs of the local taxpayers. It's the Feds that cause the problem and why Trump is striking a nerve with "everyday People".

#1  Wow. A couple of states also have counties and even a few cities within that are also sanctuaries.

I'm glad those places have enough housing, jobs, infrastructure, police and fire protection, and - yes - tax revenues to support their noble, progressive goal. Good for them!
