| Two customs officials shot dead in Balochistan |

| Suspected militants on Monday killed two officials of Pakistan Customs in Balochistan’s Mastung district. One customs official was critically wounded in the armed attack. “Armed men opened fire at a customs vehicle in the Shamsabad area of Mastung city,” said Captain (r) Farraukh Atiq, Deputy Commissioner Mastung. The official added that two officials died immediately, while the injured official was rushed to the district headquarters hospital for medical treatment. The assailants escaped from the scene of the attack without facing any resistance. Law enforcement personnel reached the spot of the attack and started an investigation into the incident. The attack comes a day after suspected militant killed two Coast Guards personnel in Gwadar district. Militants have conducted attacks against security forces and national installations in Balochistan, which has been plagued by an insurgency and growing sectarian killings for more than a decade. |
