2016-11-08
[Daily Excelsior] A bully boy of Hizbul Mujahideen was killed and three others, including commander of the outfit, managed to flee out of the security cordon in Shopian district of South Kashmire today.

Sources said that Shopian police and 62 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of army cordoned off Wangam village of South Kashmire’s Shopian district after they received specific information about presence of four Death Eaters in a house during the night.

As the security forces laid siege around the house, four Death Eaters including Hizbul Mujahideen commander Waseem Shah came out of the house opening a volley of fire at around 4 am on security forces. Two soldiers were maimed in the shootout and they were evacuated to the hospital for treatment.

The three Death Eaters including the commander fled from the cordon taking cover of the darkness and heavy firing while one of them was rubbed out outside the house by the security forces.

The dead bully boy has been identified as Saddam Hussain Mir resident of village Chitterpora in district Shopian. Sources said that he had joined the militancy a month ago. One AK-47, 5 magazines, 119 rounds and a hand grenade were recovered from his possession.

This is the second Hizbul Mujahideen bully boy who was killed in past two days in Shopian district of South Kashmire. On November 5, one bully boy of Hizbul Mujahideen, Waseem Ahmad Khanday, resident of Zarkhan village of Kellar in Shopian was killed in Dobjan forests while four of his associates fled from the security cordon under the cover of bushes.

In the meantime, SOG Pulwama and 55 RR of Army launched a joint operation in Karimabad village of Pulwama district tonight after they received inputs about presence of a group of Death Eaters in the village. However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
during the cordon the security forces came under heavy stone pelting from the residence. The operation was on till late night.

In Macchil sector of Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmire’s Kupwara district Pak troops violated ceasefire by targeting forward posts of Army early today. The troops retaliated and intermittent mortar and machine gun firing was going on.

Indian and Pak troops are trading mortar and machine gun fire in Macchil and Keran sectors of the LoC after a soldier was killed and his body was mutilated last month on October 28.

Indian troops next day targeted Pak posts in nearby Keran sector of Kupwara and destroyed four Pak posts. The tension along these two sectors of the LoC continues in North Kashmire.
