Asylum seeker who kayaked to Britain faces rape inquiry: Home Office investigates after aid worker alleges attack on Jungle volunteer was covered up

Man will be questioned over the alleged rape of a British charity worker in the Jungle camp (right). The migrant, who claims to be Iranian - but whose identity cannot be revealed (left) - crossed the Channel on October 29. It's claimed that aid workers hushed up the incident in Calais eight months ago and the victim did not report it to French police because she feared her allegation might 'stigmatise' refugees. But now an aid worker has alerted the UK police, saying that 'rape is rape'. A Home Office source confirmed that the man is due to be questioned about the allegation.
