The Latest: Trump University lawsuits settled for $25M
2016-11-19
New York’s attorney general says President-elect Donald Trump has agreed to a $25 million settlement to resolve three lawsuits over Trump University, his former school for real estate investors.

The deal announced Friday by Attorney General Eric Schneiderman (New York’s attorney general says President-elect Donald Trump has agreed to a $25 million settlement to resolve three lawsuits over Trump University, his former school for real estate investors. The suits had alleged that Trump University failed to deliver the quality real estate investing education it promised.

Schneiderman says the $25 million to be paid by Trump or one of his business entities includes restitution for students and $1 million in penalties to the state. The deal doesn’t require Trump to acknowledge wrongdoing.

Messages left with Trump’s attorneys weren’t immediately returned. Trump has strongly denied the allegations and said during the campaign that he wouldn’t settle.
Although a substantial amount compared to my footings, this is "Go Away" money. My assumption is that Mr. SHNEYE’-dur-muhn will now turn his attentions to McDonalds and Hamburger University.

#6  Wonder how much NBC will pay for breaking their contract with Trump?

If it's $25,000,000.01, it's a net add and called a 'win' in the business community.

A little better than swapping dollars, but a win nonetheless.

#2  That's what the suit was all about to begin with. The main reason it went longer is the Hillary supporters plaintiff trial lawyers wanted it to affect the election.

#1  Good move although a little pricey. As said "Go Away" money--a common legal strategy.
