| Eviction of illegal occupants from historical mosque land ordered |

| [DAWN] SUKKUR: Sukkur Commissioner Mohammed Abbas Baloch on Friday asked took the Sukkur deputy commissioner and Rohri assistant commissioner to take necessary action leading to the retrieval of the portions of historical Mohammed Bin Qasim Mosque encroached upon by certain people. The commissioner chaired a meeting of the officials concerned in his office on Friday to discuss a communication sent by the Tanzeem Fikr-o-Nazar — an organisation of volunteers that looks after the historical site — to the president, prime minister, Sindh chief minister and chief secretary drawing attention to the encroachment of the mosque’s land in Arrore village of Rohri taluka. The communication says that certain influential people have built houses and shops and installed flour grinding machines after grabbing portions of the mosque’s lands. |
