| #1 In my opinion it is immigration and the French economy that will determine the outcome of the French election. But Brexit and Donald Trump are undeniable harbingers of thing to come. Mayor Anne Hidalgo's apparent delusion with climate change, as a political strategy, may very well be the overriding misconception that dooms her to the same fate as Hillary Clinton. For those who may not be familiar with Marine Le Pen I think this would be an excellent introduction. This interview took place before the U.S. election and I dearly wished at the time (and I still do) that Donald Trump would be able to enunciate these things as clearly in English as Marine Le Pen does in French.
