ally Kathleen Kane received 10 to 23 months of jail time on Monday, months after resigning her position upon being convicted of multiple criminal offenses, including two felony counts of perjury.
Kane was found guilty for leaking secret grand jury documents conducted under a Republican predecessor and later lying under oath about her activities. Prior to sentencing, she asked the court to consider her family in handing down its decision, and her defense argued that the loss of her job and the damage done to her career was sufficient. But the prosecution presented testimony that attested to the damage Kane did to the state government.
