#5  Hat-tip to your nephew, Glenmore. Those large wildfires can get...squirrely.

Heard there were some nasty storms in the area.

If downwind of this thing, check and ready your boogie bag and have a couple routes planned. These things can move remarkably quick and evacuation warnings can be thin to non-existent. Also, particle mask is not a wussy thing to have - blowing briquettes out of your nose for a couple days is no fun. Its like that scene in Total Recall when Ahnold pulls the deal out of his nose, except he also has pneumonia.

#4  Had some rain night before last and went I went out yesterday morning it smelled like I had just poured water on a campfire. Smoke has been very bad.

#2  Rain again today, which helps. But more wind and lightning, which hurts.

#1  Spent a really nice vaca at Berry Springs Lodge right near Dollywood a couple of years ago, beautiful place in Pigeon Forge. Follow them on FB and they've posted pictures of the fire burned right down the hill behind the lodge, about 300 yds from the back deck.

Nasty situation for all concerned, praying for more rain to knock out the last of the fires.
