| 18 ISIS Turbans die in airstrike in Kirkuk |

| Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) Eighteen Islamic State militants were killed late Monday when US-led international coalition fighter jets targeted their haven southwest of Kirkuk. The strikes came in coordination with intelligence authorities, a security source told Alsumaria News on condition of anonymity. ISIS is still in control of Kirkuk’s precincts of Hawija, al-Rashad, al-Abbasi, al-Zab and al-Riyadh, all launching points for its attacks on Salahuddin province and the outskirts of Kirkuk, according to the source. ISIS is still waging attacks at Iraqi provinces which have largely become under security or popular troops’ control, but its most decisive battle is occurring in Mosul, its last strategic bastion in Iraq where government forces and volunteer militias celebrate daily victories over the group as part of a all-out operation launched in October. |
