[SunStar] Police have two people in custody as persons of interest in a foiled bombing attack near the U.S. Embassy in Manila on Monday. One of the persons of interest was identified as Rayson Kilala Sakdal, alias Rashid Kilala, a resident of Barangay Bagumbayan in Bulakan, Bulacan. Another person from Caloocan City was invited for questioning by MPD.
The improvised bomb found on Monday in a trash bin near the US Embassy and detonated by police has the same design as one used by Maute group, who members are facing charges for the September 2 bomb attack that killed 15 people in Davao City. The Maute group is alleged to have links to Daesh.
