Afghan Air Force raid leaves 16 militants dead in Helmand
2016-12-14
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least 16 murderous Moslems were killed in an Arclight airstrike conducted in southern Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
province of Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said Tuesday.

The Arclight airstrike was carried out in the restive Greshk district of Helmand province, MoD added.

The ant-government armed Death Eater groups have not commented regarding the report so far.

This comes as at least 14 murderous Moslems were killed and 11 others were seriously maimed in an Arclight airstrike conducted close to Lashkargah city, the thriving provincial capital of southern Helmand province.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said Monday that the Arclight airstrike was conducted in the past 24 hours but did not elaborate further.

#3   I must say, if the Pashtuns were to make an iron-clad agreement that they'd never, ever allow foreigners into their lands so as to set up a base that could be used against us and ours, I'd be perfectly happy to leave them alone and bring home our troops and our dollars.

Problem is: I know they'd lie.

#2  Ref #1. Used to be some tough Marines at a fire base overlooking the Kajaki dam and power station. Nothing good ever happens in Helmand. A very sad place indeed.

#1  For more than a half-century Helmand has survived as one of the world's great rat-holes:

(From Wiki) "The Helmand and Arghandab Valley Authority (HAVA) based in Lashkar Gah, Afghanistan, originally named the Helmand Valley Authority (HVA) until its expansion in 1965, was established on December 4, 1952 as an agency of the Afghan Government. The agency was modeled on the Tennessee Valley Authority in the United States...

Over the decades hundreds of millions of USAID dollars have been spent on Helmand, and there is little or nothing to show for it. Thus, Helmand reminds us that there are failed regions in failed states not worth saving.
