| 5 Taliban die in Nangarhar |

| At least five Taliban insurgents were killed in an attack on a police checkpost in eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday afternoon, local officials said. In addition, six other insurgents were injured. The attack took place in Surkhroad district of the province after a number of insurgents attacked the checkpost. However, security forces fought back, resulting in the deaths of some of the insurgents, Provincial Police Chief Sayed Gul Aqa Rohani said. There were no casualties among security forces, said Rohani. However, the Taliban have not yet commented on the attack. |
