| Kops foil ISIS attack in Salahuddin |

| Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday, that Salahuddin Operations Command seized a number of explosive devices in the city of Tikrit, and also foiled an attempted attack launched by the Islamic State. The ministry stated on its website, “Salahuddin Explosives Squad received intelligence information indication to the presence of explosives materials inside a house in Hayy al-Dyoum, in the city of Tikrit.” “The forces searched the house and found 2 20-litter jerrycans attached to detonators,” the statement added. “The explosive containers were dismantled by the security forces,” the statement explained. “Moreover, Islamic State’s terrorists attacked troops of Salahuddin Operations in Kanous village, but the attack was foiled by the security forces,” the statement further added. In a related development, the number of displaced families returned back to Salahuddin Province reached 132,590, distributed as follow: Tikrit (37,715), Residential Compound of al-Daur district (2728), al-Daur district (6119), Albu Ajil (4767), Albu Teema (4938), Sharqat (26,519), north of Baiji (49,794). |
