Iran Says It Sealed Boeing Plane Deal At Half Price |
2016-12-26 |
[snip]'Boeing has announced that its IranAir contract is worth $16.6 billion. However, considering the nature of our order and its choice possibilities, the purchase contract for 80 Boeing aircraft is worth about 50 percent of that amount,' said Deputy Transport Minister Asghar Fakhrieh-Kashan, quoted by Iran’s IRNA state news agency. A Boeing spokesman in Dubai was not available to comment. Airbus’s Hoping there were some dye packs (or better) in the pallets of Benjies Cmdr. Zero sent 'em. Some Obama slight of hand discovered by Attorney General Jeff Sessions would be absolutely delightful. Humorous explanatory link found here. |

#7 I imagine that Boeing would demand payment up front in full for each plane before delivering the planes. |

#5 I'm wondering if US taxpayers (courtesy of Barack Hussein) are not making the difference to Boeing. One of the first elements criminologist search for is motive. I would offer the Iranian nuclear deal as a potential entry. |

#2 ...I'm wondering if this isn't Iranian BS for the masses: "We pulled one over on the Infidels again!", and they're actually going to pay something reasonably close to the original amount. The other alternative is that the Iranians privately agreed to $16.6B USD, Boeing gets everything ready and makes commitments, and THEN the Mullahs say, "Oh BTW we're only gonna pay this KTHXBYE." That leaves Boeing in the position of either taking a loss or losing the order entirely, because Airbus will snap it up in a heartbeat for whatever pocket change the Iranians will throw their way since Airbus is government subsidized and doesn't have to worry so much about pesky things like profits. #1 The Boeing deal was a touted as a by product of the Obama Iran nuclear deal. Just like everything else Obama did, it was all a failure. |
