| IED hits AMISOM convoy near Leego district |

| A remote-controlled land mine blast has ripped through a convoy of military vehicles belonging to African Union mission in Somalia known as (AMISOM) near Leego area in southern Somalia. Witnesses reported loud explosion resulted from the improvised explosives device (IED) targeted AMISOM convoy as it was en route to Ballidogle air base in Lower Shabelle region. Reports said several armored vehicles were damaged in the blast and there was no immediate confirmation of the casualties. No group has yet claimed credit for the massive explosion. The convoy has been transporting a military supply from Mogadishu to AMISOM base in Ballidogle air base at the time of the attack, according to the sources. |
