| According to officials, initial reports indicate it was a suicide bombing and the target was the district police chief, Nasir Zabit. Zabit and five others were reportedly wounded in the blast, including one of his bodyguards and four civilians. The wounded have been taken to Maimana hospital in the provincial capital. |
