Security forces chased the Islamic State’s members out of the city,” Obeidi explained. Yesterday, Islamic State group attacked a security checkpoint north of Khalis District, using a booby-trapped vehicle, leaving 7 casualties. Joint forces kill 2 IS members, destroy 3 units northeast of Baqubah Diyala (IraqiNews.com) Diyala Police Chief, Major General Jassim al-Saadi announced on Sunday killing two members of the Islamic State, as well as destroying three units belonging to the group in a security operations, northeast of Baqubah. Saadi said in a press statement, “Joint security forces from Tigris Operations Command, Diyala emergency police and al-Hashd al-Shaabi conducted a search operation in Ayn al-Samak area in Imam Wes, northeast of Baqubah.” “The operation resulted in the killing of two members of the Islamic State, as well as destructing three units and detonating four explosive devices belonging to the group,” Saadi added. The area of Imam Wes is unstable on terms of security, due to the presence of several armed groups in the province of Diyala. |
