#5  Germany is indeed supplying Israel with submarines, and probably other things. But they are also part of EU efforts to support -- through donated supplies and funding -- Palestinian settlement building efforts in the West Bank, blatantly ignoring Israeli requests for consultation first; labelling settlement products to facilitate boycotts; and other anti-Israel efforts they position as being the kind of feedback friends give to those who have not learnt the lessons of the Nazi era as they have.

#3  After the wall fell, only 25% of Germans admitted to hating Jews in a poll, the lowest ever recorded. In those days such ideas were considered ignorant. That was before the "educated" left gave it the figleaf of anti-Zionism. Now fire bombing a synagogue is an understandable expression of distaste for Israel daring to defend itself.
