| Business owners stand by decision to fire workers who protested |

| [CNN] Jim Serowski's employees told him they'd planned to skip work Thursday to participate in "A Day Without Im Serowski, founder of JVS Masonry in Commerce City, Colorado, said his position to them was clear: "If you're going to stand up for what you believe in, you have to be willing to pay the price." As promised, when Serowski's foreman and some 30 bricklayers failed to show up for work, he fired them all with no regrets, he said. |

| #10 Have to...construction, restaurant...no call - no shows are brutal. I don't care if an employee calls me five minutes before opening, needs the day off to go pelican catching, I'm not standing around wondering when of if employee shows, I can call an audible on the day's plan. Second, it is a trust issue. Now I don't trust you now..get away from my customers, get away from the cash, get the f off my property, don't come back, and you will have to get out of my sphere of influence. Done. |
