[ARA] Senior ISIS member Abu Thar, who had executed four Kurdish Peshmerga soldiers, was killed in an "Our Counter-Terrorism Dept confirmed that a joint operation by Kurdish Asayish and US-led coalition killed senior ISIS member Talab Elewy Hamadany, Emir of Kirkuk’s Diwan al-Hisba," the Kurdistan Region’s Security Council (KRSC) said on Monday.

The KRSC is headed by Masrour Barzani and oversees security and intelligence community in Kurdistan Region and, as of Aug 2014, coordinates coalition
"This is part of a coordinated campaign by the Counter-Terrorism Dept (CTD) and CJTFOIR’s [US-led coalitions forces] to remove ISIS’s leadership from the battlefield," the Kurdish security council said.
Speaking to ARA News, Ceng Sagnic, a researcher with the Tel Aviv-based Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies, said the cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and the US-led coalition against ISIS is not surprising.
