| IDF soldier lightly wounded in IED attack near Nablus |

| [IsraelTimes] In separate incident nearby, army nabs three Paleostinians holding pipe bombs, Molotov cocktails; another 13 people placed in durance vile elsewhere in West Bank. A soldier was lightly maimed when an improvised bomb was thrown at him near the West Bank city of Nablus early Thursday morning, the army said. The soldier’s unit was on patrol in the Balata refugee camp as a group of Israeli Jews visited a pilgrimage site on the outskirts of the northern West Bank city. After the IED attack, the soldier was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, the Israel Defense Forces said. An army spokesperson said she "was not aware" of any arrests made in connection to the IED. The incident occured as troops were overseeing a visit of some 1,200 Jewish worshipers to the Joseph’s Tomb holy site in Nablus. These pilgrimages occur on a monthly basis and are often flashpoints for Paleostinian Molotov cocktailings, rock throwings and other low level festivities between local residents and IDF troops. During the visit, Israeli troops tossed in the clink Book 'im, Mahmoud! three people in Nablus who were armed with a pipe bomb, two Molotov cocktails and a knife, the army said. No one was injured in the incident, and no damage was caused. The suspects were handed over to the police and Shin Bet for further interrogation, the IDF added. Elsewhere in the West Bank, the army arrested 13 other Paleostinians for rock throwing and taking part in violent protests. Four of them were arrested in Aboud, outside Ramallah; four were picked up in Bayt Umar, near Hebron; four were from Qabatiya, outside Jenin; and one was arrested in Abu Dis, near Jerusalem. Israeli Air Force shoots down Hamas drone [Ynet] An Israeli Air Force fighter jet shot down an unmanned aircraft of Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",, which was making its way from the Gazoo Strip to the Mediterranean. The drone was shot down before it managed to infiltrate Israel, and fell into the sea after being intercepted. The IDF front man said that "the IDF will not allow any airspace violation and will act resolutely against any such attempt." Hamas-run school in East Jerusalem ordered shut [Ynet] The Ministry of Education, Jerusalem City Police and the Shin Bet have issued an immediate closing order on Thursday for an East Jerusalem school that was established and run by Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,. The Education Ministry denied the school opening for the new school year due to its involvement with Hamas. After it was learned that the school kept operating illegally the closing order was issued. |
