Kurdish YPG fighters repel treacherous Turkish attack near Syria’s Afrin |

[ARA] Clashes erupted on Friday between the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) and Turkish military forces in Afrin District, in northwestern Syria. ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... ’s military entered Syrian territory near Afrin in Aleppo Governorate, and shelled a YPG-held village. "The Kurdish village of Bilbil in Afrin District was hit by several Turkish shells. At least five civilians were maimed in the attack," local media activist Rojin Ibrahim told ARA News. "After crossing the border into Syria, the Turkish Army targeted Bibil in preparation to storm the village and take it as a base for further offensives on the Kurdish district of Afrin," she said. "However, women are made to be loved, not understood... the YPG responded by bombing a Turkish military convoy to prevent them from further advancing into Afrin," the source reported. A YPG spokesperson told ARA News that Friday’s festivities between their fighters and the Turkish forces continued for nearly 2 hours. "Erdogan’s troops were eventually forced to retreat back to their basis near the borderline," the official said. "We won’t allow Turkey to occupy Rojava or any other part of northern Syria. Our [YPG] forces are prepared for any scenario, we are ready to defend our land against the Turkish occupying forces and their mercenaries," the front man said. |
