| #13 Two delightful turns from Zenobia F and Frank G. A note with regard to "Please, Prez, call this fresser": In German, the verb essen, to eat only refers to what people do. Fressen, to eat means when animals gobble their food without even the thought of manners. I discovered accidentally that the two terms are not interchangeable, no matter what my various German-English dictionaries say. Trust our Zenobia F to come up with yet another multilingual reference -- and this is just the audience able to appreciate such things properly. :-) |
