As of 8pm Friday, police had two buildings in Shibbari area under Dakshin Surma upazila of Sylhet surrounded for 17 hours, having located a turban hideout there. Officials have said there is a woman named Morjina in there. Zubaira and her husband Kamal Hossain, from Baishari union in Naikkhyangchhari upazila, Bandarban were killed during a police raid on March 16 in a turban den in Sitakunda, Chittagong. Kamal, Zubaira and her brother Jahirul Haque left Bandarban over a year ago. Monji Ara, 16, left sometime later. The family says they were out of touch for eight months. Bandarban police later said many people from the union had gone missing. Ziabul Haque, Zubaira’s brother, said Monji Ara may be the woman named Morjina in the Sylhet den. "Whether it is my sister or anyone else, if they are involved in anti-state activities they must be strictly punished," he said. Sub-Inspector Abu Musa of the Baishari Police Investigation Centre said police cannot immediately confirm that Monji Ara is Morjina. |
