#6 NASA should do the math on how big a trebuchet would have to be to launch a Mercury Capsule into low Earth orbit. Release the data on April 1st and see if any journalists figure it out. |

#5 "it can't escape the atmosphere so we will have to kill it." I dunno. I can see them being tossed into low earth orbit from a gigantuous, big-ass trebuchet. One advantage is this would get the Society for Creative Anachronism on board, a constituency which has been previously under-served by the USAF. |

#2 Performing task sub-contracting for the Army really doesn't expand the organization or funding lines. If you're not the 'Prime' you never really control the budget. |
