Mike Morel, CIA deputy chief: U.S. making NORK relations worse with ‘bluster'
2017-04-16
[Wash Times] Former CIA Deputy Director Mike Morell said that the U.S. is making relations with North Korea worse by touting military "bluster."

Mr. Morell said on CBS’ "This Morning" Friday, "We are also making it worse with our bluster, and by sending aircraft carriers in there. We’re raising the crisis."

"It’s best to just ignore [North Korean leader Kim Jong-un]."

He also said that the situation with North Korea is immediate and that their weapons can probably reach the continental United States, as well as other targets.

"We think they’ve had enough time to mate a nuclear weapon to a missile. So the threat is now."

Mr. Morell also said to expect a nuclear test this Saturday in honor of the 105th birthday of Kim Il-Sung, the first leader of North Korea since its establishment in 1948. The birthday is often used as a date for North Korean leaders to demonstrate military capabilities in a show of the country’s strength.

#12  ...just give him Treasury plates then to print his own. Any different than the Feds running them off without pause?

#11  Once he gets inter-continental missiles, the only option will be to buy him off. Danegeld.

#7  It's not 'bluster' if its backed by someone who intends to carry through. Then it's a clear warning of what's about to follow.

But wait! We should iggy that fact that the NORKS are nuts and have sworn to destroy us. Little wonder this smarmy little fok climbed the Klingon leadship ladder and is no longer an analyst.

#2  Most of the bluster is from the Nork side. I assume their objective is a big payoff to stop, which they of course won't do.

I'd say, they have picked the opponent to try that negotiation ploy with.

#1  I'm hoping this only sounds stupid because it has been passed thru the "journalism" filter. But I'm not optimistic.
