| [ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) media wing released footage showcasing an important advance against Islamic State combattants in eastern Homs, targeting a series of mountaintops just north of the M-20 highway between Palmyra and the provincial capital of Homs. Supported by Hezbollah units, elements of the SAA’s 11th and 18th Divisions, alongside the 5th Legion and National Defence Forces, liberated many villages and the entire Al-Shawmariah mountain chain, thereby retaking a key desert area which has not been under government control since 2014 |
