Out: Global Warming Until Antarctica Melts And Floods Us All In: A Coming Little Ice Age That Will Last Decades
2017-05-09
[DailyStar.co.uk]
And we all know what the prescription for dealing with the coming mini-ice age will be, as they claim they'd predicted it all along by calling it climate change instead of global warming, right? May God damn them to the deepest circle of Hell alongside the traitors for bringing science into disrepute.

#8  97% is mid-way between 95% certainty and 99% certainty. It's kind of a code, meaning 'we are pretty confident, but we could be wrong'.

BTW any %age certainties coming out of a model are completely spurious and unscientific.

#7  Zharkova, of Northumbria University, made the predictions by studying new mathematical models for solar activity.

She claims her models can predict the solar cycle with 97% accuracy, leaving little margin for error.

There must be some sort of virus that makes climate drama queens use 97% a lot.

#4  We have developed short-season, cool climate varieties of grains and other food crops, just as we have long-season, hot climate varieties. Come the change, we can switch, though the changeover will lead to shortages for a few years, just as floods and droughts lead to temporary shortages now. In previous cycles, when the local farmers only had access to local traditional varieties, the prospects were considerably worse -- and Russia will have a new, and very profitable, export commodity that isn't oil.

#3  Yea, well, we could do with a bit of cooling

#2  Shorter growing seasons, crops fail, people starve. Climatists are cut from the same cloth as the Venezuelan apparatchiks. Same end results.

#1  The general assumption is the climate only changes slowly. 12,000 or so years ago during the period called the Younger Dryas, the climate cooled very rapidly. Perhaps as much as 5C in little more than a decade, and no one knows why.

Global warming might have been a problem in some places. Global cooling will be an unimaginable catastrophe.
