Raids at militant dens in Jhenaidah suspended for low visibility

[Dhaka Tribune] 6:00pm- Company Commander Major Monir Ahmed announces that the operation has been suspended for the day due to low visibility. The operation will be resumed and Bomb disposal units will attempt entry into the remaining building tomorrow morning.

3:50pm: RAB 6 Jhenaidah Camp Company Commander Major Monir Ahmed tells the Dhaka Tribune: "We have recovered five bombs, two dynamite sticks and some 15 to 20 different types of electrical circuits from Selim’s house."

1:27pm: RAB 6 Khulna Region Commander Rafiqul Islam says: "We detained Selim and Pranto around 1am. They disclosed three locations to us.

"Based on their information, we conducted raid at one house and recovered two boom jackets. We will start raids at the other spots within a few minutes."

11:48am: Major Monir Ahmed tells the Dhaka Tribune: "The raid has begun, We have already recovered two boom jackets from one of the houses."

11:46am: Bomb Disposal unit arrives at the spot.

11:41am: The houses are located half a kilometre away from RAB camp, our correspondent Nayan Khondoker reports from the spot.

11:25am: One of the houses is owned by slain myrmidon Tuhin’s bother Selim and the other is owned by Tuhin’s cousin Pranto, our correspondent Nayan Khondoker reports from the spot.

Earlier on May 7, two myrmidons, including Tuhin, died in a raid at a suspected myrmidon hideout at Bojrapur village in of the district. Three police officials were maimed injured in the incident.

10:30am: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) 6 Jhenaidah Camp Company Commander Major Monir Ahmed tells the Dhaka Tribune: "The two buildings have been cordoned off since the morning.

"We are anticipating that murderous Moslems are hiding inside these two dens."

10:00am: Law enforcers cordon off two suspected myrmidon hideouts in Chuadanga village of Jhenaidah district.
