Houthi guerilla operations let Saudi invasion forces pay heavy price in Jizan region
2017-05-18
[ALMASDARNEWS] In several operations conducted by the Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
forces in the Jizan region against Saudi led groundtroops, several soldiers of the invading forces have been killed, further exhausting the latters already mauled contingent of fighters.

The media wing of the Yemen’s military announced on Wednesday the killing of two Saudi soldiers in clandestine sniper operations, targeting the site of Al Dafynah in Jizan region.

According to the same sources the crew of a Saudi military vehicle has been killed and maimed in an ambush the same day. They were attacked with a remotely controlled bomb on their way to the military base of Khashal in Jizan.

The day before the Saudi led forces already had to lament a heavy loss, as Yemeni Army units together with their Houthi allies, conducted an aussault, with which they were able to take full control of a Saudi military post located east of al-Talaa in Najran.

The Saudi Army’s conventional training, equipment and strategic misalignment renders it incapable of facing their enemies in Yemen. While heavy bombardments and the siege imposed by the Saudi led coalition takes their toll on Yemen, the groundforces are stuck in a disadvantageous battle situation.

The Yemeni Army and the Houthis have compensated their disadvantage in military equipment by employing a guerilla strategy, which has already led a multitude of conventionally inferior combatants to victory in various conflicts around the globe. The inability to adapt renders the Saudi forces vulnerable to ambushes and sniper attacks and therefore costs them many lifes on a daily basis.
