 watching members of his security detail violently clash with protestors in Washington on Tuesday.

The Hill confirmed that the video, uploaded to YouTube on Thursday, was shot by a staff member at VOA Turkish, a multimedia Internet and TV service.

In the video, Erdogan emerges from a car in the driveway to watch the incident before heading inside the Turkish ambassador’s residence. His bodyguards are visible from Erdogan's car kicking and punching protesters.

Roughly two dozen protestors had gathered outside of the embassy to protest the Turkish leader’s policies.

Nine people were maimed during the demonstration. The Turkish Embassy said on Wednesday that Erdogan's bodyguards were acting in "self-defense" during the incident and the protesters were affiliated with the terrorist group PKK. A protest leader denied that anyone involved had any ties or sympathies to the PKK.

#2  This is rational exploratory aggression from Erdogan.

Unless there's a very harsh reaction like e.g. pnging the Turkish ambassador this will escalate.

In March Erdogan pretty much openly declared asymmetrical war on Europe.

He'll do the same wrt the US if he's not opposed.

Also an attempt to kill or abduct Gulen is to be expected.

#1  Remember the DC pols make sure the 2d Amendment is never permitted in their town. Try that in some other places and a good old Tombstone shoot out would have been viral on the Net.
