According to this link, California legislators are planning to rush a gun registration regime through, with the goal of a January, 2018 deadline. I do not know if the linked document is authentic, but it makes sense rhat with all the firearms regulations the state of Californa has imposed in the last year, a registration requirement would soon follow.

And you know what comes after that: Full bans.

Loads.

Rantburg's summary for arms and ammunition:

Pistol ammunition prices were mostly steady. Rifle ammunition prices were mostly steady.

Prices for used pistols were mixed. Prices for used rifles were mixed.

The nationwide average price for a used AR-15 pattern semiautomatic has dropped to another historical low at $450. It will be interesting to see just how far down AR-15s go in the current deflationary environment. The newest decline continues the trend begun in March, 2017.

#7  Tax value on acreage suitable for a 10 acre. 'Texas Homestead' has doubled in 2 years. Nobody can force you off your homestead.

#6  Trailing daughter #2 and Mr. daughter (yes, I am having fun doing this properly -- why do you ask?) moved to Dallas last October. Td#2 told me house prices are appreciating at the rate of 1% per month, and houses are selling so quickly that buyers are putting in offers sight unseen -- and often offers on multiple houses in the hope that at least one will be accepted. This concerned me until she said in Dallas there is a period of time after the seller accepts an offer that the buyer can cancel without penalty, lest they be on the hook for three or four properties at once.

#5  Young MissJohnQC lives in Austin. She is thinking of moving to another place, in part, because wealthy migrant Californians from places like Silicone Valley are moving to Austin and driving up housing costs to the point of unaffordability.

#4  By refugees I meant Americans from other US states moving to Texas.

#3  There are so many refugees moving to Texas that the Dallas Morning News reported last week that there are just not enough homes.

#2  Another good reason not to live in California--a state gutted by the left. Vermont is one of the few states that has got this nearly right.
