| [ALMASDARNEWS] Syrian Arab Army (SAA) forces continued their offensive against militants in the desert of Al-Sweida along the Jordanian border, Monday, some 25 kilometres (15,5 miles) north from Zuluf dam in the Syrian Badia region. Backed by Hezbollah and Iraqi paramilitaries (Kataeb Imam Al-'Ali & Kataeb Hezbollah), the Syrian Arab Army's 5th Corps managed to secure most of the eastern part of Al-Sweida, forcing the US-backed rebels to abandon several points in order to avoid being overrun. Video footage of this advance was captured by local journalists embedded with the Syrian Arab Army in the Badiya region. SAA forces have managed to secure 70 kilometres (43,4 miles) along the Jordanian border over the last week. |
