Let women use medical cannabis to ease period pain, says NY Democrat
2017-06-01
Good lord.
[RT] A New York politician is leading a campaign to allow women in the US state to treat menstrual cramps with medical marijuana.

Linda Rosenthal, a member of the New York State Assembly, has called for painful periods to be placed alongside epilepsy and multiple sclerosis on a list of conditions whose sufferers are eligible to buy medical marijuana.

"This is a woman’s health issue," said Rosenthal in an interview with Newsweek. "Men have really been [the ones] who’ve run state houses, governorships, presidencies, and some issues that are just about women have gotten shortchanged."

#7  If the feds will get out of the way with their Schedule 1 BS and the states will get their collective heads out of their arses, you'll see your CBD pills in no time (though medicinal users prefer oils). There are plenty of legit medicinal applications. Oh yeah, and telling me when I can/can't get high is not the government's job (and not an effective deterrent, anyway). Didn't Prohibition teach us anything? /libertarian rant

#6  There are all sorts of edibles, even before legalization - brownies, butter, so forth.

One problem is that they take time to kick in, so people OD. Also, pets and kids getting into them.

I don't know enough about how much the active ingredient can be refined and concentrated. I guess the best parts of really potent strands could just be ground and capsuled.

dunno gorb; I have a hard enough time tracking as it is. Perhaps the week afterwards.

Annnnd then this statement puts me alongside SCfI's line.

#5  For some applications, oral ingestion is not tolerated

Especially when it's lit.

#4   we would already see it available in pill form

For some applications, oral ingestion is not tolerated.

#3  Really, if there was any real medical use for Cannabinoids (of which THC is one), we would already see it available in pill form. Since such pills are not readily available, I conclude that there's no such thing as "medical marijuana",but rather, it's just another excuse to get high.

#2  Screw it. Legalize it, tax it, regulate it and let people use it for whatever they want. Who's to say menstrual pain isn't the same as epilepsy.

#1  I'm with TW. It's the men who need the medical cannabis to ease the pain.
