Obamas buy D.C. home for $8.1 million

I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody...
and former first lady Michelle purchased the home here that they have been renting, the Sun-Times has learned, closing on the $8.1 million purchase on Wednesday.

Obama front man Kevin Lewis confirmed the sale, telling the Sun-Times, "Given that President and Mrs. Obama will be in Washington for at least another two-and-a-half years, it made sense for them to buy a home rather than continuing to rent property."

A source familiar with the situation said the Obamas will continue to own their reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
