| Syrian Kurds will not allow ‘Shia paramilitary groups’ to enter Syria from Iraq |

| [ALMASDARNEWS] Sihanouk Dibo, the presidential advisor of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party in Syria (PYD), told ARA News that the Syrian Kurds are open to relations with Baghdad, after the expulsion of ISIS from the Iraqi-Syrian border. "It will be good to deal with Iraqi government and coordinate with it to serve and establish security and social stability especially on the economic side and meet the needs of civilians and people on both sides who are under the conditions of siege imposed on Rojava-Northern Syria," Dibo said. In an exclusive interview with ARA News, the Kurdish official accused the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... of imposing an embargo on the Syrian Kurds from both sides of the border. But the official said that although cooperation will benefit both Syrian Kurds and the Iraqi government, there should be no ’interference in internal affairs’ or ’imposition of narrow projects and agendas’. However, some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go... the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the People’s Protection Units (YPG) and the Asayish [Kurdish police] have stressed they will not allow the Shia paramilitary groups to enter Syria. "We won’t allow [the creation of] any communication line between al-Hashd al-Shaabi [Iraq’s Shia Popular Mobilisation Units] and the Syrian regime under any circumstance," Asayish head Ciwan Ibrahim told Asharq al-Awsat. "There is no difference between Turkey, Iran and the Bashir al-Assad regime because they work against the Syrian Kurds," he said. |
