| US-backed rebels pound Syrian Army positions on the Damascus-Baghdad highway |

| [ALMASDARNEWS] On Thursday, Free Syrian Army ... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund... (FSA) rebels based in the Syrian Desert bombarded checkpoints controlled by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and allied paramilitary factions on the Damascus-Baghdad highway in southeastern Homs. Using GRAD rockets and artillery guns, the FSA’s Osoud al-Sharqiya, Ahmad al-Abdo Martyrs Brigade and Maghwar al-Thwara struck SAA positions around the Zaza checkpoint which was liberated last month by Syrian government forces whom hope to reach the strategic al-Tanf border crossing, thus creating a land route to territory held by the friendly Iraqi Army. Tonight was going to be a special occasion... the US Airforce conducted a new wave of sorties against the SAA, destroying multiple technicals and killing an unknown number of military personnel. Despite hostilities by the US and its vetted proxies, the SAA is steadily advancing towards the al-Tanf crossing while simultaneously capturing turf on the provincial border with Sweida. Washington has so far warned the SAA to stay outside a 55 kilometer buffer zone covering the al-Tanf border area are where US special forces have established a military base. However, a woman is only as old as she admits... the SAA has not adhered to the US buffer zone. On Thursday morning, the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) also bombed US-backed Kurdish fighters in northern Syria in retaliation over the ongoing American aggression. |
