A minute’s silence for the victims was observed by traders, shoppers, police and political figures, who gathered at the site Wednesday for the reopening.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan said there were "mixed feelings" at the market.

"Our thoughts are with those who bit the dust and were maimed," he said. "There are traders who lost business. Come to Borough Market, buy their things and support these traders."

Donald Hyslop, the chair of trustees of Borough Market, also stated that, "It is essential for the well being of everyone associated with Borough Market that we return
