2017-07-10
[The Hill] President Trump has accepted French President Emmanuel Macron’s invitation to visit France for Bastille Day in mid-July.

"President Trump looks forward to reaffirming America’s strong ties of friendship with France, to celebrating this important day with the French people, and to commemorating the 100th anniversary of America’s entry into World War I," White House press secretary Sean Spicer said in a statement.

"The two leaders will further build on the strong counter-terrorism cooperation and economic partnership between the two countries, and they will discuss many other issues of mutual concern."

#2  LOL I can't wait for France to react to US troops marching down their streets. It'll make the G20 riots look like a picnic.

#1  From a former colleague in Austria:

He will participate in the 14 July ceremonies: The USA are the guest of honour as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the US commitment to WWI.

The following units will participate in the parade on the Champs Elysees:

1st Infantry Division, 173rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 7th Army Training Center, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, U.S. Air Forces Europe, U.S. Naval Forces Europe , U.S. Marine Forces Europe. Major Nichols will lead the US detachment. He will be followed by five soldiers dressed in WWI « Sammies » uniforms.

USAF participation : the Thunderbirds followed by two F22. The French Escadrille La Fayette will also be there (hope that the in flight TV crews can show the superb commemorative artwork on these "Mirage 2000" aircraft.

Big thing ! With luck, it will be re-broadcast on a USA channel
