| Five dead in car bomb explosion at security checkpoint near Mogadishu |

| [SHABELLENEWS] At least five people were reported to have been killed and several maimed in a huge boom-mobile kaboom near Somali capital Mogadishu on Wednesday, witnesses said. According to the eyewitnesses, the blast took place after a truck-laden with explosives went off at a security checkpoint in Sinka Dheer area located on the main highway linking Mogadishu to Afgoye. The truck went kaboom!at a parking lot soon after it was stopped by the security forces over suspicion, while heading to the capital. A thick plume of black smoke rose to the sky following the kaboom. The sirens of the ambulances were heard as they rushed to scene of the kaboom. The maimed, mostly civilians have been taken to hospital in Mogadishu to receive medical treatment. The Al Qaeda-affiliated Militants have grabbed credit for the attack through a statement posted on pro-Al shabaab, saying it was targeted an African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... forces convoy passing in the area. |
