| US-backed rebel commander defects to Syrian Army |

| [ALMASDARNEWS] The commander of one of the US-backed rebel groups in southern Syria has defected to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), opposition activists reported via social media. Abu al-Hos, a military commander in Jaish Mughawir al-Thoura, allegedly defected to the Syrian Arab Army in the Badiya area of rural Damascus, taking several fighters and vehicles with him. If true, Abu al-Hos’ defection will be the highest level defection from the US-backed rebel forces during the Syrian War. |
