President Trump lashed out at Sen. Richard "Dick" Blumenthal (D-Liar) in a tweetstorm on Monda​y, calling the Democrat a "phony Vietnam con artist!" ​"​Interesting to watch Senator Richard "Dick" Blumenthal of Connecticut talking about hoax Russian collusion when he was a phony Vietnam con artist!​," Trump wrote on Twitter.​
​The president, who's on a working vacation at his resort in Bedminster, N.J., said "never in US history has anyone lied or defrauded voters" like Blumenthal.​

​"He told stories about his Vietnam battles and ​​conquests, how brave he was, and it was all a lie. He cried like a baby and begged for forgiveness like a child. Now he judges collusion?​" Trump wrote.​
B​lumenthal ​had said he served "in" Vietnam. But the New York Times revealed that he had received military deferments.
He did serve in the Marine Corps Reserve in the 1970s and in 010, he clarified that he served "during" the Vietnam War.
"The meaning of 'in'?"
Trump also received five military deferments during the Vietnam War – four while he was in college and one for bone spurs in his feet.
Responding on Twitter, Blumenthal said he won't be bullied.
