| 3 Taliban militants die in Jawzjan |

| At least three Taliban insurgents were killed by security forces in Aqcha district of northern Jawzjan province, local officials said on Tuesday. In addition, two other insurgents were wounded. The incident took place on Monday afternoon in Aqcha after “security force received an intelligence report that a group of five members of Taliban insurgents planned to pass through the area,” provincial police chief, Rahmatullah Turkistani said adding that the troops then lay in wait for them. “One of the public force members was also wounded in the clash which was lasted less than an hour,” Turkistani said. “The security forces also seized a motorbike and some weapons from the insurgents,” he said. The Taliban has not yet commented on the attack. |
