A US judge on Wednesday halted parts of a Texas law intended to aid federal immigration enforcement by punishing so-called "sanctuary cities" two days before it was to have taken effect. Chief US District Judge Orlando Garcia in San Antonio's federal court found the Texas measure was unlikely to withstand constitutional scrutiny. |

#1 The notion of "sanctuary cities" defies reason. Do you suppose a judge named Garcia might come under a little suspicion? Taxpayers ought to question sanctuary cities and their protection of lawbreakers. If there are no consequences to breaking the law, you have no law. |
