| Werfalli defies arrest warrant and executes 5 prisoners |

| [Libya Observer] Dignity Operation field commander, Mahmoud al-Werfalli, committed on Thursday yet another summary execution of captives, 24 days after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant against him for war crimes in Benghazi. Despite Dignity Operation’s claims that al-Werfalli is under arrest, the serial killer travelled to the town of Ajdabiya, some 170 southwest of Benghazi, and carried out a summary execution of 5 prisoners, turning a deaf ear to the ICC arrest warrant and the western countries that called for his handover. Local sources from Ajdabiya said al-Werfalli executed the 5 prisoners by firing squad in broad daylight near Sayarat roundup, a marketplace for people to buy and sell cars. The five victims had been tossed in the slammer Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un! by so-called Ajdabiya Operation Room, the sources indicated. The ICC issued an arrest warrant of the notorious Saiqa commander on August 15. Later, the front man of Dignity Operation, Ahmed al-Mismari, claimed that al-Werfalli had been arrested and was investigated by the military prosecutor. Militia groups of Dignity Operation have voiced utter rejection to the arrest warrant. |
