| [NYDAILYNEWS] civil rights hustler Al Sharpton ...Tawana Brawley's spiritual advisor... ’s daughter's birthday celebration ended in handcuffs early Saturday after she accosted a cabbie in Midtown, according to police sources. Ashley Sharpton, who turned 30 Friday, is facing charges of petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property after she allegedly grabbed the keys from a cabbie on W. 48th and Ninth Ave., then shoved and punched the cab driver when he demanded them back. "She told me it didn't happen the way they said it happened but I can't speak for a 30-year-old woman," Al Sharpton told the Daily News Saturday morning. But hours later, during his weekly National Action Network rally at the group’s Harlem headquarters, Rev. Sharpton claimed she was targeted by police because she’s his daughter. "All I know is that you got four people in a cab, and there's some altercation, and they find out two hours later one of them is Al Sharpton's daughter, she's the one that's going to the precinct," the firebrand ... firebrandsare noted more for audio volume and the quantity of spittle generated than for any actual logic in their arguments... civil rights leader told the crowd. |

| #1 She should be made to pay for the entire cab downtime caused by the loss of the taxi keys, What was it 12 hours? 16 hours? 4 hours? She won't be charged for assault (shoving taxi driver) because the taxi driver was not hurt? Try shoving a police officer and see what you can get away with. |
