| Wrestling with a Hunting Beach police officer, not a good idea |

| [LA Times] A man was fatally wounded in an officer-involved shooting that was captured on video outside a 7-Eleven in Huntington Beach on Friday morning. An officer contacted the man at 9:30 a.m. outside the store at 6012 Edinger Ave. and an altercation occurred that led to the shooting, said police spokeswoman Angela Bennett. |

| #11 "Excessive Force" is the cry. Certainly the guy had a CQC weapon but in a standoff position. |

| #10 I am mildly surprised that the cop had a slapper and didn't use it when he had the chance. I assume it is, as typical these days, cops afraid to leave a mark on a suspect, so they end up shooting some guy who really just needed an a**-kicking. But I wasn't there, and the cop went home that day. |

| #8 There have been a number of incidents in the last couple of years that have made me doubt the officer or their actions. This seems like it will be another one. |

| #7 TW. Re: #2. There is a longer version of this video. The subject is on the ground on his back facing up with the officer kneeling over him trying to gain control. But the subject has his knees in the officer's chest trying to push him away. The subject reaches up to officers belt and easily takes possession of the sap. The officer, fearing the subject will strike him with it pulls his pistol, gets up off of the subject and backs away about 10 feet. The subject gets off the ground and stands which is the moment this shorter video begins. |

| #2 What is a slapper, Hupeting Sforza8196? I'm afraid I don't understand what I ought to be seeing in the video -- I don't see the man pulling anything off the officer's belt, nor even anything that looks like an altercation. Mine has been a very sheltered life. |

| #1 Not going to go well for the officer. The device pulled from the officers belt and was clearly visible to the officer after it was taken was a slapper. |
