[Townhall] Mercedes-Benz announced Thursday it would be investing $1 billion in a U.S. plant. The money will help establish electric vehicle production at the company’s Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant and go toward building a battery at a nearby factory. Both will result in the creation of 600 new jobs, the company said. The luxury division of Germany's Daimler AG said it plans to manufacture electric SUVs under Mercedes' EQ sub-brand at the Alabama plant by the start of the next decade. [...] "With the addition of electric SUVs to our future fleet, we will provide discerning drivers with a new, high-quality automotive option," Mercedes executive Markus Schaefer said in a statement. |

#1 This is a company on the move. Some of the best diesel motors on the market. This new venture will be very productive I am certain. I don't like the direction we are headed however. They want humans out of the operating decision process. Control of our independent operating decisions. What will they do when human consciousness is wedded with motherboards. |
