Iraqi forces repel and push back ISIS near Ramadi |

[ALMASDARNEWS] The combined forces of the Iraqi army, police and Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) have succesfully repelled the latest ISIS attack on the central Iraqi city of Ramadi. Even more, sources indicate that the Iraqi forces counterattacked and drove the terrorist group further back then had been the case prior to the attack. Halaf al-Jalibawi, commander of the PMU in the area, told Iraqi news network al-Sumariah that the surprise attack by ISIS on the city of Ramadi came from the Attaash area, which was already under terrorist control. According to Jalibawi, the Iraqi forces not only fended off the ISIS attack on the city, but pushed back and liberated all of Attaash as well. The |
